Prayas is a society for Social Welfare run by the students of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal, under the head of COMMUNITY SERVICE CELL OF MANIT.The fundamental concept on which the society operates is to eradicate the hackneyed thought of treating social service as a help and sometimes even as a grant to the weaker section of the society. We try to inculcate in the minds of the students that to help someone is, one of our many fundamental duties that we owe to our society, being the more fortunate and blessed section of society. We try to make it clear that, for the betterment of the society where we live in, amendments are surely needed. But this time we should target the stereotypical ideology of the capable but insensible section of our society. And for making such amendments we, at MANIT, have initiated this humble 'attempt'......... “PRAYAS”…
Projects undertaken by PRAYAS:
1. A regular visit to the MACT School located in the campus during Saturdays in afternoon hours to provide aid to the kids there in studies and to develop their personality.
2. Regular volunteering help is given by the volunteers to different NGOs of Bhopal where they go and try and contribute in the best possible way they can, within their capabilities. The following NGOs are linked with PRAYAS:
· AARAMBH
· MUSKAAN
· AARUSHI
· PARVARISH – The Museum School
· Etc.
The basic idea of this was arrived by consulting with the founder of a volunteer association called as SWANS.As all core members are volunteer in SWANS.And the Prayas works on the norms of SWANS. For more details about SWANS please visit.
